This CD features the lovely sounds of California nature. There are many, many biomes and habitats in Northern California with a huge diversity of environments and variety of plants and animals. These recordings focus on a small 100 mile area just north of the San Francisco Bay Area in the coastal hills. This CD is great for many things! Relaxation, meditation, ambiance, background ambiance, background sounds for hypnosis and great for nature lovers.
Track 1 is a Northern California beach. Very soothing and peaceful as the ocean waves rhythmically wash upon the shore and crash against the rocks. The coast offers such a timeless ambiance!
Track 2 is a tranquil hillside stream. There is something incredibly relaxing about the sounds of flowing water. In this track, you'll hear the sound of a babbling, rain-swollen brook coursing over moss covered rocks and boulders in the heart of Napa Valley's rural environment.
Track 3 is a chaparral scrubland forest. In this one, you'll hear the sounds of birds native to the California scrub habitat. Scrubland habitats are found throughout the world and come in many different varieties. This one is a Mediterranean climate scrubland. Scrublands are characterized by low shrub vegetation with little in the way of tall or substantial trees. The one in this CD consists of various medium to large shrubs, sagebrush, Manzanita and a few scattered trees like the California Live Oak, Valley Oak, California Laurel (aka Bay Laurel) and Digger Pine (aka Gray Pine - Pinus Sabiniana). Just enough trees that this could also be classified as a forest. It was recorded in the rural hills of Napa County in a canyon containing a dry stream bed.
The birds heard in track 3 include the Western Scrub-Jay, Steller's Jay, Common Raven, California Towhee, Spotted Towhee, Chestnut-Backed Chickadee, Oak Titmouse, Acorn Woodpecker, Nuttall's Woodpecker, Wrentit, California Quail, Northern Flicker, Mourning Dove, etc. The chaparral habitat seems to have one of the most diverse types of birds.
Track 4 is a coniferous mountain forest in Mendocino County. Recorded near the famed Redwood giants of the world, this particular section of forest contains a mix of large Redwood trees, Douglas Fir and other pine varieties. The birds you'll hear in this track are more in the way of Corvids - Steller's Jay (an icon of pine forests in the Pacific Northwest) and the Common Raven. You'll also hear the Chestnut-backed Chickadee, Oak Titmouse and a couple of others.
Bring California's diverse nature and ambiance right to the comfort of wherever you are!
